ANG 281 is an introductory course to the field of Second Language Acquisition. The course aims at providing pre-service language teachers with a good understanding of learner developmental processes. The course considers the principal factors that play on learner development. Among these factors are the role of the L1, the language learning environment, the role of instruction, and, finally, the relative impact of learner differences in terms of cognitive and affective factors such as aptitude and motivation.

This is a hybrid course that contains six modules. It combines on-line content with weekly meetings.
